SCIENCE OF BASKETBALL
The Science of Basketball is a youth development and employment program that uses basketball as a catalyst for learning, workforce readiness, and career exploration. The program provides teens with paid, hands-on opportunities to build basketball skills while gaining exposure to a wide range of sports-related careers beyond professional athletics. Participants engage in structured skill stations, strength and conditioning, and competitive play—including one-on-one, three-on-three, and five-on-five scrimmages—all intentionally connected to project-based learning. Youth apply what they learn daily through drills, demonstrations, and team-based activities. Teens host and run a mini basketball camp at the end of the summer as a culminating project. By the end of the program, 90% of participants increase their awareness of diverse sports-related career pathways, and 90% strengthen their basketball and transferable workplace skills, including teamwork, communication, and accountability. The Science of Basketball prepares youth to succeed both on and off the court by connecting passion, purpose, and career opportunity.
